The SAGESSE partnership met in Paris at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne on July 12 and 13 for an update on the activities of the project. The project, which aims to support Tunisian higher education institutions in their process of reform and autonimisation, brings together 21 partners including the 13 Tunisian public universities, two Italian universities, a Spanish university and the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. The Tunisian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the National Authority for Evaluation, Quality Assurance and Accreditation (IEAQA) and the European Center for Studies and Initiatives (CESIE), an Italian association specialized in training, are also among the project partners.
The two day meeting saw the organization of focus groups addressed to presidents, vice-presidents, secretaries general and other representatives of Tunisian universities to discuss autonomy, the governance of the higher education system and analyze training needs.
