In the context of Euro-Mediterranean cooperation, the Mediterranean Workshop will be held in Naples, at University of Naples Federico II, on 23-24 October. It will be a chance to identify new opportunities, foster initiatives for shared development and develop practical proposals.
To make the most of the challenges globalisation offers, Euro-Mediterranean countries need to develop new strategies. Such strategies should achieve sustainable development, boost opportunities for job creation and increase competitiveness, mitigating disparities and leading to a new role at the world scale. Consolidating existing cooperation mechanisms and generating new initiatives by increasing coordination and concentration of objectives, resources and competences can be driving forces to promote sustainable and socially inclusive development of Mediterranean regions in the frame of the European Cohesion Policy. Dialogue, shared competences and agreed objectives should characterize this approach. In this regard, the Workshop will profit from the international and multicultural nature of research and education, as well as from existing network.
Participation in the Workshop is upon invitation. It is also possible to submit an abstract for selection. For those wishing to request a participation grant, the deadline for applications and abstract submissions is 1 September. For those not wishing not request one, the deadline is 15 September.
