Five partners from Europe and nine from South Mediterranean Countries (Morocco, Palestine, Egypt and Jordan) are gathering on January 13-15, 2016 in Rome at UNIMED premises for the Kick-off meeting of the OpenMed project (Opening up Education in South-Mediterranean countries), whose UNIMED is the coordinator.
OpenMed is an international cooperation project selected for co-funding under the Erasmus + Capacity Building in Higher Education programme during the period 15 October 2015 – 14 October 2018.
During the three-days event, the participants will discuss together how to raise awareness and widen HEI participation in open educational practices and resources through the adoption of Open Educational Resources (OER) and Open Educational Practices (OEP) as a bottom-up approach to support the modernisation of Higher Education in the countries involved.
The project will offer the possibility to other universities from Morocco, Palestine, Egypt, Jordan or any other Southern Mediterranean country to join the action as community partners.
