S.E.M.IN.A.RE: An unmissable opportunity of international mobility

S.E.M.IN.A.RE project (Exchanges in Europe and the Mediterranean to Internationalize the University of the Region) CUP nr. 110140 – is a new opportunity for UniBa students to study abroad specifically at the universities of Aydin Istanbul, Paris 1 Pantheon – Sorbonne and Tampere, and  represents also for the University of Bari  the occasion to welcome some students from the same universities.

UNIMED, the Union of Mediterranean Universities, a large network that currently counts 103 universities from 23 Mediterranean countries based in Rome, is the leader of the project.

UNIMED has become a reference point for the inter-institutional university cooperation. Firmly convinced that international mobility is an indispensable cultural background for students, as well as teachers, researchers and university staff, UNIMED has launched the S.E.M.IN.A.RE project so that 6 students from UniBa can benefit from a scholarship of 5 months abroad and at the same time that the University of Bari can host other students from the same universities. A total of 24 students will be involved in exchanges to and from the University of Bari Aldo Moro.

The project is entirely funded by the Apulia region under the Cohesion Action Plan.

This is not a traditional exchange program, but a comprehensive mobility package. Each student will have a tutor on the spot who will follow him/her for academic activities, and an UNIMED tutor for organizational and administrative issues.

UNIMED therefore hopes that S.E.M.IN.A.RE is a long-term pilot project that will enable partner universities to continue to cooperate and encourage the ever-growing presence of international students in Apulia’s universities.
