Support EUA’s advocacy for the establishment of a flexible Erasmus+ grant to integrate international talent with a protection status

The European University Association (EUA) has recently launched a call to the European Commission to recommend it establishes a specific Erasmus+ grant which would support qualified scholars and students who are persecuted and face threats  due to their academic activity, their political opinions, or religious convictions, ethnicity, gender etc., and have to leave their countries due to war or warlike circumstances. Single universities cannot do more because of  lack of funding, as they usually have to rely on their own financial resources and the voluntary engagement and commitment of individual staff. Furthermore, funding and support initiatives only exist at some national levels, which is why EAU recommends the establishment of such an EU-wide grant.
