On 17th May in Alicante (Spain), the Interreg MED Programme organised a community building event gathering the eight Interreg MED Thematic Communities of the programme. The aim of the event was for the participants to go beyond each single thematic community and to work together, sharing ideas, solutions and good practices and finding a common work methodology for the communities. At the same time, this event contributed to foster the team spirit and to strengthen the community at large.
During the event, GO SUMP presented a video introducing the Med Urban Transports Community, that you can watch here.
The Interreg MED event was also an occasion for the three communities under Axis 2- Fostering low carbon strategies and energy efficiency in specific MED territories: cities, islands and remote areas, to get together on May 16. The MEDNICE, GREENCAP and GO SUMP projects- featuring the Thematic Communities of Efficient Buildings, Renewable Energy and Urban Transport respectively – had a successful meeting that established the basis for an effective coordination among them to increase the visibility of the topics and the impact of the lobby activities. The three communities will also explore cross-cutting themes – including for example the link between SUMPS (Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans) and SEAPS (Sustainable Energy Action Plans) – and try to identify common policy recommendations.
