UNIMED is glad to share an important initiative organised by the Union for the Mediterranean.
On 11 November 2021, the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM – Secretariat) will organise the 3rd edition of the UfM Trade and Investment Forum 2021, that will be online from 10:00 to 14:00 CET.
Regional economic integration in the Mediterranean region remains a challenging endeavor. While digital trade has become one of the strongest and fastest growing sectors in the Southern Mediterranean, trading across borders is still expensive, time-consuming and full of logistical challenges, in particular for SMEs. At the same time, foreign direct investments in the region are increasingly expected to provide tangible benefits for the creation of jobs and a digital and green transition. Based on its large regional network, the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) will bring together experts, policymakers and private sector representatives from across the Mediterranean to provide insights, perspectives and solutions that can turn trade and investment into an impactful driver for regional economic development.
