On December 20th, at 11.30am, the UNIMED SubNetwork on Climate and Environmental Change is organizing a 2h webinar on the impact of the decisions taken during COP26 on the educational systems in the Mediterranean.
The objective of this event is to encourage a fruitful exchange between representatives of the different categories of stakeholders and to foster a constructive discussion on crucial issues related to education and climate and environmental change in the Mediterranean region.
The event will be opened by the UNIMED Director, Marcello Scalisi, and it will be attended by Prof. Daniella Tilbury, former Vice-Chancellor and CEO of the University of Gibraltar and Chair of the UN Global Monitoring and Evaluation Expert Group in Education for Sustainability, by Dr. Grammenos Mastrojeni, Senior Deputy Secretary General at the Energy and Climate Action Division of the Union for Mediterranean and by Prof. Piero Lionello of the University of Salento as representative of MedECC (Independent network of Mediterranean Experts on Climate and environmental Change).
In addition, the event will be attended by the coordinators of the UNIMED SubNetwork, Prof. Adil Salhi of the Abdelmalek Essaâdi University and Prof. Josep Vila Subirós of the University of Girona, and by a group of students from the Mehmed project who will participate in the webinar with the objective to discuss the role of the youth movements in action against climate change.
This event will be a great opportunity to debate and interact directly with some of the main expert in the world and in the Mediterranean in relation education for sustainability and evaluate the future challenges after COP 26.
