(Rome, 28 August 2019) “Enabling African women researchers to play a leading role in the transition of Africa to a knowledge-based and innovation-led economy through research that can be transferred into products, processes, services and technologies having impact on people´s lives” is the ultimate goal of the program “Science by Women” launched by the Women for Africa Foundation.
The Foundation has just launched its 5th call for fellowships for this programme, aiming at selecting 15 senior African women scientists to be integrated in 15 top research Spanish centers in the following areas: health and biomedicine, agriculture and food security, water, energy and climatic change, mathematics, information and communication technologies and economic sciences.
This programme is promoting African women’s leadership in scientific research and technology transfer and contributes to enable African women researchers and scientists to tackle the great challenges faced by Africa through research .
