Codename: Caesar. Syrian detainees of torture victims exhibition in Rome

On October 4th, 2016 at 11.00 am in Rome will be held a Press Conference about the exhibition “Codename: Caesar. Syrian detainees of torture victims”. This initiative has been organized by Amnesty International Italy, Article 21, FNSI – National Federation of the Italian Press, CIDSE – Federation of Christian Organizations for International Volunteer Service, Un Ponte Per and UNIMED.
The press conference will take place at the headquarters of the FNSI National Federation of the Italian Press (I° Floor), in Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, 349.

The exhibition will be held at the Museum MAXXI from 5 to 9 October.
The exhibition has been already shown at the United Nations in New York, at the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US Congress, at the Holocaust Museum in Washington and in major European cities, and it will be presented for the first time in Italy.

A rigorous selection of images chosen among 55,000 photos produced by Caesar, alias attributed to an ex-officer of the Syrian Military Police in charge of photographing both the death and torture of detainees in the prisons of Bashar al Assad between 2011 and 2013.
