The sAGESSE « Amélioration de la Gouvernance dans le système de l’EnSeignement Supérieur en Tunisie » project, submitted by UNIMED in the framework of the EU Programme Erasmus+ Action 2: Capacity Building in the field of Higher Education last February 9th has been selected for funding.
Coordinated by UNIMED, six EU partners from Italy, France and Spain will work closely with all 13 Tunisian public universities, together with the Tunisian Ministry for Higher Education and Scientific Research and the National Agency for Evaluation, Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Tunisia.
The project aims to contribute to modernising the management of the higher education system in Tunisia by improving governance practices, by strengthening quality assurance mechanisms and by enhancing the financial autonomy of universities.
The specific objectives of the sAGESSE project are the following:
– creating an integrated system of definition and quality control at the level of each university;
– defining a good governance framework to promote the establishment of an e-government unit which will aim to propose an innovative, efficient and more autonomous financial management structure;
– ensuring commitment of leadership at all levels to support the process of decentralization of management by promoting the adoption of strategic planning through the production of action plans.
The project has a duration of three years and will officially start on 15 October 2017 and end on 14 October 2020.
