At the same time, the higher education institutions’ “third mission” contributes to the knowledge transfer and innovation of societies and economies.
Initiatives and best practices are put in place in the region for setting-up new start-ups, developing internship and industrial doctorates programmes, developing employable and digital skills among students and researchers.
The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) published a useful handbook on this matter by sharing best practices. Contributions to this handbook have been provided also by UNIMED and UNIMED members of the SubNetwork on Employability.
This handbook includes career services and internships’ experiences, skills for employability, teaching and learning, international exchanges, co-tutorship in PhDs, partnership for innovation and capacity development and so on.
