Online Journalism and Multimedia: A brief overview from the classroom to the newsroom practices

Date: 15 March 2021

Webinar Description

The main goal of this webinar is to think about online journalism practices nowadays, taking into account the use of multimedia resources typically used by students and journalists in their editorial projects. Although the huge amount of references about online journalism in the last two decades, online media companies still remain to have editorial options engaged with classic models, namely from the press, replying to the uncritical ‘shovelware’ model from the past. Through a few examples from well-known online journals and some academic projects, we intend to evaluate the use of the online journalism guidelines already published by many authors in the last decades.
