The full programme of the 16th ENSE Forum 2023 is now available online!
The University of Rome “Foro Italico” and the European Network of Sport Education (ENSE), with the collaboration of UNIMED – Mediterranean Universities Union, will host the 16th ENSE Forum in Rome on the 21st-22nd September 2023.
This year, the Forum will be held under the theme “Sport Education for Sustainable Development: the Euro-Med perspective”.
The Forum will offer a space of reflection and discussion on the current societal and educational challenges facing Europe and the broader Mediterranean Basin. In particular, the Forum will focus on the role of sport education in a transitioning world and tackle issues such as social cohesion and intercultural dialogue, sustainability, coach education, physical education, and digital education in sport.
UNIMED, with its SubNetwork on Sport and Physical activity, endorses the cooperation among its members and partners to share learning, identify common themes and explore collaborative opportunities related to this field.
In addition to that, sustainable development is a growing priority which UNIMED is strongly committed to pursue. For these reasons, UNIMED is honoured to support the organisation of the event and contribute with its Euro-Med perspective.

In particular, UNIMED is glad to announce the screening of the documentary film “Refugee Girls” by the Italian film maker Leonardo Cinieri Lombroso.
Refugee Girls is a documentary that follows the lives of Robina, Bozhena and Sofia, three young refugee university students. Robina, from Afghanistan, follows courses at the Sapienza University of Rome. In Barcelona, Bozhena and Sofia, Ukrainian girls, meet during a Spanish course for refugee students. Intertwining these stories, the documentary explores the plight of refugees and the opportunities offered by Europe. Human resilience and inner strength emerge in extreme situations. Refugee Girls invites reflection on acceptance, solidarity and the creation of a better future for those fleeing conflict and persecution. Watch the trailer here.
The documentary is the result of a collaboration between Sapienza University of Rome, the Mediterranean Universities Universities (UNIMED), Fundació Solidaritat of the University of Barcelona, the Association of European Universities (EUA) and the International Organization for Migration (partner associate) within the UNI(di)VERSITY project funded with the support of the Erasmus+ program of the European Union.
“Refugee Girls gave me a chance to engage with the new generation of 20-year-old refugee girls and enter their lives. You feel a rippling energy made of depression, dreams, the desireto change the world and great instability. Broken dreams of teenagers in the prime of their growth who are forced to grow up and take on great responsibilities”, said the Director.
We are thrilled to announce the two-days programme and are looking forward to welcome speakers and participants in Rome next week!
