Impact and synergies for sustainability of Capacity Building in Higher Education projects in Libya

15 October 2020, 11:30-13:00 CET

Webinar description

The Libyan case can be considered as one of the most successful in the past years in terms of the impact that Erasmus+ had on its Higher Education system. In the past five years, thanks to a set of funded projects, Erasmus+ completely changed the shape of Libyan Universities contributing in a decisive manner in increasing local capacities. As already mentioned during the Libya restart initiative: in the last years we have witnessed a strong improvement in the management of Erasmus+ tools and rules on behalf of the Libyan universities and staff, with a constant improvement of their performance in the programme.

In the last years, we observed the tangible and positive results of the Erasmus+ action in the country, providing awareness to the Libyan University on how to exploit and correctly address the Erasmus+ programme for their own benefits and for their own further development. International cooperation and mobility are key tassels for the country’s developing process, allowing for knowledge transfer, skills improvements, exchange of good practices and human resources development.

In this context, the webinar will build on ongoing experiences and upscaling existing programmes by showcasinga number of Erasmus+ projects working on the modernization of the Higher Education system in Libya, and at different stages of implementation. Beyond a presentation of the ENBRAIN, PAgES, SAHA and IBTIKAR projects activities, the webinar will encourage synergies between different projects working with Libyan universities and discuss the sustainability of these activities with project coordinators, partners and institutional level representatives.
