High interest for Virtual Exchange to empower online teaching in times of emergency

As the COVID-19 emergency and the connected lockdown do not seem to diminish, in order not to disruption educational activities the global higher education community is experimenting a number of online teaching methodology. Virtual Exchange is one of these: apart from being fully online, it provides the advantage of developing not only subject-related skills, but also 21st century and soft skills such as intercultural communication, teamwork and problem solving.

The growing interest for this methodology has been demonstrated by the high participation to a Masterclass organised on the 26th of March 2020 by UNIMED, focussing on the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange of the European Commission. More than 800 persons from European and South Mediterranean universities registered for the event, and more than 400 actually attended the online event.
In order to get to know all the opportunities offered by Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange please visit the initiative website https://europa.eu/youth/erasmusvirtual or take part in the next online events that will be organised in order to engage universities, professors and students in this groundbreaking initiative.
