The UNIMED SubNetwork on Climate and Environmental Change is organising on June 23, 2021 a series of webinars focused on the EU Climate Pact and opportunities offered by the European programs.
As climate change is becoming more and more frequently a priority issue in the political agenda of the majority of the countries worldwide, the European Union is taking initiative in several ways to create awareness and supporting research and innovation to mitigate the problems and increase resilience. One of these wide-ranging initiatives is the well-known European Green Deal, a structured plan to make the EU’s economy sustainable, by turning climate and environmental challenges into opportunities, and making the transition just and inclusive for all.
As part of the European Green Deal, the EU recently launched the Climate Pact, aims to become a lively space to share information, debate and act on the climate crisis, and offer support for a European climate movement to grow and consolidate.
In this frame the UNIMED SubNetwork on Climate and Environmental Change is pleased to organise on June 23, 2021 the two seminars, one in English and one in French, where Dr. Raniero Chelli, Ambassador of the Climate Pact, on the basis of his long-term experience of EU programmes, will provide some practical information about those EU programmes which represent an opportunity to launch research, innovation and training projects and are open to organisations based outside the European Union.
Both seminars will be organized on 23th June. The French session will start at 10.30 am CEST. The English session will start at 2.30 pm CEST. Both sessions are open to anyone interested to better know the EU Climate Pact and opportunities offered by the European programs in the field of climate and environmental change.
