(Rome, 22 July 2019) The UNIMED Award, a collateral prize of the Venice International Film Festival, was established as a part of the collaboration between UNIMED and la Biennale di Venezia.
La Biennale is one of the most important international contemporary art exhibitions and, in particular, the Venice Film Festival which take place within the exhibition, is one of the most prestigious international film festivals worldwide.
The UNIMED award was created in memory of Prof. Franco Rizzi, former Secretary General and Founder of UNIMED, for his life-long commitment to the Euro-Mediterranean university cooperation.
This year the 3rd edition of the UNIMED Award will take place during the 76th Venice International Film Festival from August 28th to September 7th, 2019.
An international jury made up of students coming from several UNIMED associated universities will have one week to evaluate the competing movies and to award the prize to the winner, according to the film’s sensitivity on the issues of cultural diversity and integration.
