Istanbul, 20-21 marzo: Forum sulla mobilità urbana tra EU e paesi MEDA

In the framework of the Fp7 Viajeo Plus project leaded by Ertico, where UNIMED is partner, a Forum on Cooperation in R&D in sustainable urban mobility between EU and Mediterranean Partner Countries has been organized on 20-21 March 2014 to be held in Turkey at Bogazici University in Istanbul.

The objectives of the Forum are the following:
• To establish contacts with local stakeholders;
• To identify Mediterranean Partner Countries’ research and development priorities and common interests in the field of sustainable urban mobility;
• To formulate recommendations to the EC in R&D policy on cooperation with Mediterranean Partner Countries.

Dr. Marcello Scalisi, UNIMED Executive Director and Dr. Paola Romano, Deputy Coordinator of International projects will participate in the Forum of March 20-21, 2014.

Generally speaking the project foresees benchmarking outstanding solutions for innovative and green urban mobility in Europe, Latin America, China and Singapore and subsequently facilitate the uptake of these solutions in the Mediterranean Partner Countries.

The Viajeo Plus has also the goal to bring together a critical mass of business and governmental organisations, research institutions, and technology transfer centres to develop a proactive, forward-facing forum to tackle the
promotion of sustainable urban development and the appropriate transport management measures facing by the Mediterranean region.

One of the key goals is to integrate the European and Mediterranean research communities and build up new knowledge, in order to contribute to the promotion of co-operation and understanding between Europe and the Mediterranean Partners Countries.
