The first Conference to present the MAYA Master involving the Universities of Tunis El Manar, Carthage and Sfax took place on December 7th 2019 at the Polyvalent hall of the Faculté des Sciences of Tunis El Manar University. The meeting entitled “Scientific cooperation in the Mediterranean region: capacity building, multidisciplinary approach and multi-agency partnership” was attended by the partners of the project, the professors and students of the Master as well as by national stakeholders.
The President of Tunis El Manar, prof. Fethi Sellaouti, opened the event and Dr. Malek Kochled, Director General of the International Cooperation at the MESRS highlighted the importance of the Erasmus + program which allowed a significant increasing of motilities which passed from 500 in 2015, to over 1500 in 2018.
The partners of the project pointed out that this new master is aimed at facing Tunisian agriculture challenges: the preservation of natural re-sources, food security, adaptation to climate change, etc. representing the key to a sustainable agricultural development.
The stakeholders participating in the Conference underlined the importance of the reuse of treated water in agriculture as well as the development and promotion of all the necessary measure ensuring a better use of natural resources.
