The project PANACeA featuring the MED Biodiversity Protection Community is meeting on 6 and 7 May 2019 at the Orto Botanico dell’Università di Roma “La Sapienza” in Rome, Italy. The event, that is open to the public on the second day, will cover ecosystem-based approach and seek to enhancing the encounter of the projects of the thematic community, looking for synergies.

6 MAY 2019 – HANDS-ON WORKSHOP ONLY FOR THE 11 INTERREG MED BIODIVERSITY PROTECTION PROJECTS
The 11 Interreg Med Biodiversity Protection projects partners will meet on 6 May at the Orto Botanico for a hands-on workshop on the latest monitoring, management and geospatial tools. The tools workshop will provide the participants with an opportunity to share and learn from each others’ achievements.
7 MAY 2019 – OPEN SEMINAR “ECOSYSTEM-BASED RESPONSES TO MEDITERRANEAN BIODIVERSITY CHALLENGES”
Structured to provide ample opportunity for debate and networking, Ecosystem-based responses to Mediterranean biodiversity challenges, the seminar will be the overall theme of this full day, with a particular focus this time on land and sea interactions, participatory approaches to natural resource management and the new platform on biodiversity protection knowledge.REGISTER HERE
PANACeA is a project featured under the umbrella of the Interreg MED Programme and co-funded by the ERDF – European regional development fund of the European Union. The PANACeA partnership, which involves UNIMED, has the objective to streamline networking and management efforts in Mediterranean Protected Areas (PAs) as a mechanism to enhance nature conservation and protection in the region. The project aims at ensuring synergies between relevant Mediterranean stakeholders –including managers, policymakers, socio-economic actors, civil society and the scientific community, and to increase the visibility and impacts of their projects’ results towards common identified strategical targets.
