In the framework of the ESAGOV project, on May 21 and on June 3, 2020 UNIMED has organised two thematic webinars respectively focused on the Universities’ quality assurance process and on the methodology of definition of a “University Strategic Plan” as part of the project activities addressed to Algerian universities.
Around 70 people from partner institutions among Representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, Rectors, Vice-Rectors, Quality Assurance responsibles and academic staff involved in the strategic plan definition, attended each webinar.
The main objective of these webinars was to raise awareness within the academic community on some key issues within the ESAGOV project in alignment with the reform of the Algerian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to improve quality assurance process within universities and to better strengthen the participatory approach for the institutional strategic plan definition.
Concerning the first webinar on the quality approach and strategy, Prof. Isabelle Pouliquen, Vice President on Quality at the University Aix Marseille, presented the case-study of her University, mainly stressing on some keys points as concepts and implementation activities in order to reach a successful integration of quality assurance strategy within the university system.
As far as the second webinar is concerned, Prof. Aziz Mouline, Vice-President on Quality and Management at the University of Rennes 1, presented the case-study on the strategic plan of his university. In particular, key issues were faced as well as the methodology to set up a good “Strategic Plan”; the activities to be done in order to monitor its assessment, its indicators –both qualitative and quantitative-, and the analysis of the relevant risks and a model plan to tackle with financial difficulties and suggestions for a perfect economical balance.
Both webinars represented a great opportunity for debate and exchange of good practices among all partners.
