Capacity building, knowledge transfer, scientific and technical upgrade: Fosamed is getting ready for its 3rd face-to-face training at IAV in July 2023

The FoSaMed project, funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission, brings together 4 Moroccan Higher Education institutions and 3 European partners promoting inclusive education through curriculum development and teacher education on food safety.

The main goal of the project is the implementation of a new joint Master’s programme on food safety whose first edition will be launched in the academic year 2023/2024.

In the framework of WP3, the FoSaMed project organised a Training of Teachers (ToT) whose aim is to build capacities and to improve scientific and technical knowledge exploitable on the labour market. The ToT is developed through online modules and webinars in addition to on-site Lab Trainings.

The main purposes of these activities are the following: identification and transference of the best teaching practices; improvement of learning processes; analyse the technological and methodological framework; implementation of international teaching methodologies; upgrade of technical skills; share of knowledge on Food Safety between EU and Moroccan HEI partners.

About 30 Moroccan professors from all partner universities are involved in the training for the technical and the methodological upgrading.

After the two face-to-face trainings which were held in July 2022 at the University of Barcelona (Spain) and at the University of Évora (Portugal), Fosamed is now getting ready for a third face-to-face training at the Institut Agronomique et Vétérinaire Hassan-II from July 17th to 21st, 2023.

The workshop is dedicated to the realization of practical activities related to technologies and analyses in the field of food safety, with a focus on Mediterranean food products (milk, olive oil, honey, etc.). It will also have joint work sessions, between teachers from the different partner HEIs, to prepare and plan the classes of the modules of the future Master in Food Safety that will start in the academic year 2023/2024, and of the MOOC in “Healthy, safe and sustainable food in the Mediterranean”.
