On March 2nd and 3rd, it was held in Oran the kick-off meeting of the Capacity Building project DIGITAQ (in English, Creation of Digital Capacities for the Management of Quality Assurance in Algerian Higher Education).
The DIGITAQ project will provide the quality assurance activity with an information system operating in a network, based on a national database, able to meet all operational and prospective needs. DIGITAQ aims to establish communication channels to strengthen the links between the various stakeholders guaranteeing the management and achievement of the local objectives of each strategic plan in line with a national vision and strategy.
During the meeting, the partners discussed about the future steps for strengthening university staff skills and defined an action plan of the activities to be implemented during the 3 years’ activities.
Representatives of all the project’s partners attended the meeting. The Oran University of Science and Technology, coordinator of the project, the nine Algerian partners institutions: the Higher Education and Scientific Research Ministry – MESRS, University of Abderramane Mira, Bejaia, University of Kasdi Merbeh, Ouargla, the University of Larbi Ben M’hidi, the University Mohamed Khider Biskra, the University Mohamed Lamine Debaghine -Setif2, the University of Mascara, the University 8 May 1945 of Guelma , the University of Alger 1 and the five European partners: University Lyon 2 , the Faculty of Science and Technology New University of Lisbon , the MFQ (French Movement for Quality), the University of Liege and UNIMED.
UNIMED’s participation in the DIGITAQ project falls within the approach of strengthening university governance in the euro-med area. UNIMED is already active in Algeria through ESAGOV project.
