The Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) in Barcelona hosted the seminar “Educational Pathways: How to Strengthen Bridges and Links between Higher Education and Vocational Training to Meet the Needs of the Socio-Economic World?” on May 8th jointly organized by UNIMED-Mediterranean Universities Union, in partnership with the Secretariat General of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) and the European Training Foundation (ETF), within the Erasmus+ projet RESUME – RESeaU Méditerranéen pour l’Employabilité.

The seminar represented an open space for sharing experiences and dialogue, with the objective to cross the points of view of decision-makers, university officials, socio-economic actors, experts and, more broadly, stakeholders interested as practitioners in the reflection on the articulation of higher education and vocational training paths.

Three round tables have been organised around the following topics:

  1. Articulation of Public Policies in Higher Education and Vocational Training: Good Practices, Difficulties and Prospects
  2. How to improve the dialogue between universities and vocational training centres and companies: exchange of experiences and good practices
  3. The benefits of a multi-stakeholder regional dialogue to respond to the challenge of youth employability, a key factor for regional stability and integration in the Mediterranean
