Due to the impossibility of entering Libya, the ENROL partnership meeting was held at the University of Sousse, Tunisia. Thanks to the commitment of its Rector, President Faysal Mansouri, the ENROL partners were able to hold the second meeting in Tunisia from April 25th to April 26  discussing many important issues for the future activities of the project.

The opening address was reserved to his Excellency Professor Chiheb Bouden, Minister of higher education and scientific research of Tunisia. The Minister recalled the willingness of Tunisian Institutions to cooperate with Libyan and European partners in the framework of EU projects: “Tunisian Institutions are committed to help Libyan Universities to reach international standards and continue to cooperate with Europe despite the current situation”.

The meeting was also followed by a certain number of local media such as Jawhara FM.

The ENROL partners had the opportunity to discuss during the 2 days in order to  finalize a definitive Action Plan to be implemented in Libyan Universities during dedicated training sessions. One of the major meeting achievements was the commitment of all the Libyan partners to preparing a document proposing a reform action to the Ministry of Higher Education for reshaping International Relation Offices’ structure.

The next meeting will be held in Evora, Portugal at the premises of the local University in the month of November 2016. In September the partners will also organise the first training session in Sousse just after the celebrations of the Islamic Eid al-Adha (Sacrifice Feast).
