Spring has been quite hectic for the SAHA project

A Partners meeting took place on April 30th 2023 in Tripoli, Libya, hosted by the University of Tripoli. The meeting was a strategic moment for the project life, since Libyan partners discussed the key steps needed to officially launch and deliver the new Master course in Health Management. Some universities have already received permission by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to start the new courses, and started delivering the lectures; others are working on the accreditation of the curriculum and will be ready to start with the new master very soon. All Libyan universities plan to have the newly designed Health Management Master fully active in the autumn semester of 2023.

On June 1, 2023, the International Cooperation Office at University of Zawia, the Libyan Center for Medical Research, and the Office of Research and Consultation at the Faculty of Economics organized an open dialogue for undergraduate and master students on healthcare management, as a side-event of the scientific symposium Health Administration: Reality and Aspirations in the Framework of International Partnerships organized on the same date. While the symposium focused on the realities and aspirations of leaders, academics and professionals of the health sector on how to support scientific excellence and international research cooperation, the open dialogue focused on engaging students in research activities and projects. The Libyan Center for Medical Research offered to provide technical support for the students’ research projects.

Finally, on June 1, 2023, during the annual Coimbra Group conference, SAHA was presented while discussing the Europe-Africa cooperation, the topic of this year’s event. Founded in 1985 and formally constituted in 1987, the Coimbra Group is an association of long-established European multidisciplinary universities of high international standard. This year’s topic undoubtedly includes the SAHA project and for this reason the SAHA general coordinator, Antonio Maria Morone from the University of Pavia, and Sabri Gabran Mohammed Elkrghli, coordinator of the new Master’s programme at LIMU, were invited at the University of Cologne, Germany, to present the program.
