Following European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen’s call for a more focused approach to the EU’s wider neighbourhood, particularly the Mediterranean, the European Commission has established a new Directorate-General for the Middle East, North Africa and the Gulf (DG MENA). Under the leadership of Commissioner Dubravka Šuica, this new body will drive and shape the future EU-Mediterranean policy through a joint effort with partner countries from the Southern Neighbourhood.
As part of this initiative, the EU and its Mediterranean partners are developing a New Pact for the Mediterranean—a comprehensive framework addressing the region’s key challenges through concerted priority areas.
To ensure an inclusive and representative process, the European Institute of the Mediterranean – IEMed has launched a region-wide consultation campaign, co-funded by the European Commission. This open consultation is part of a broader effort by the EU to gather insights from a diverse range of stakeholders ahead of the publication of the New Pact for the Mediterranean.
The consultation is structured as a Euromed Survey, inviting participation from across EU and Southern and Eastern Mediterranean countries. Target respondents include: Policymakers, Experts & academics, Civil society representatives, Private sector leaders, anyone interested in contributing.
By participating, you contribute to shaping the future of EU-Mediterranean cooperation and ensuring that policies reflect the priorities and perspectives of those directly engaged in the region.
