An international workshop on renewable energies has been held in the University of Tripoli on Oct. 1st, 2019 at 9:00 am, as part of the Enbrain project – Building capacity in renewable and sustainable energy for Libya.
The overall objective of Enbrain proposal is to fill this gap through the design and develop of an innovative educational platform based on new courses, e-learning methods and digital tools that may promote a systemic multi-dimensional vision of the global energy challenge.
Private sector will be involved in the very early stage of the project to define skills and competences requirements. The organization of this first Workshop has been a crucial and fundamental moment in order to achieve this goal and in contributing to create an enabling environment to start new collaborations and investments in Libya. The event saw the participation of two institutional representatives (The Minister of Education and the Minister of Finance) in addition to a series of representatives of the private sector and other Libyan Universities.
In this particular framework, UoT hosted an international, open, multi-stakeholder event to discuss about strategy of capacity building in the field of energy for Libya. The resulting document containinig the results of the one-day work, the so-called Strategic Education Agenda in Renewable and Sustainable Energy, will set guidelines for the development phase of the project.
