The FOP International forum was held in Malta, on 13th May 2015, hosted by Fondazzjoni Temi Zammit (FTZ), partner of the FOP project. Experts and stakeholders in the field of the sustainable tourism development attended this international event that allowed to share uptodate FOP project outcomes and high level discussions on sustainable tourism policies, initiatives and experiences. The agenda of the event is available here. The FOP 3rd Partners meeting took place on 14th May. The FOP Project The FOP project aims at developing an innovative tourism plan model for cultural and environmental heritage. Some selected sites in Italy (Lazio, Basilicata, Campania), Spain (Córdoba), Malta (La Valletta), Egypt, Palestine (Bethlehem), Tunisia (Mahdia) and Lebanon (Byblos) will become part of a crossborder network of historical centers in order to mutually strengthen their visibility in the tourism sector. Through the enhancement of these centres, touristic diversification and deseasonalisation, and the positioning on broader market segments, the concerned local economies will be boosted and further developed. In addition, a widespread hospitality will also be implemented in Palestine in order to stimulate tourism in specific locations with new itineraries including old towns which, despite their value, have never been fully exploited.
