The Fondation Maison des sciences de l’homme (FMSH) and UNIMED are organizing a capacity-building activity addressed to Ph.D. students and postdoctoral researchers registered in Higher Education Institutions or Research centers from the MENA region
This capacity-building activity is designed in the framework of the sustainability of the International Panel on exiting Violence (IPEV) project (2017-2021) coordinated by the FMSH and funded by the Carnegie Corporation.
The IPEV capacity-building activity will be held from 14 to 18 November 2022, with some of its sessions organized during the UNIMED week 2022 in Brussels on 15,16, and 17 November.

During this period, eight Ph.D. researchers from the MENA region will have different activities with our partners of the Initiative: Agency for the Promotion of the European Research (APRE), Erasmus Student Network (ESN), and Philanthropy Europe Association (Philea).
In addition to some of the UNIMED week sessions, the participants will tackle the following topics:
- European Commission funding opportunities for Southern Mediterranean Research institutions
- Funding opportunities with donors
- Methodology of international application writing
- Strengthening of communication and dissemination skills in research
- Internationalization and Research in the Mediterranean region
Furthermore, the eight Ph.D. researchers will have the opportunity to present their research to the UNIMED week participants during the workshops that will be organized.

The International Panel on Exiting Violence (IPEV), launched in 2017 and completed in 2021, was intended to create an international and interdisciplinary community of researchers working on exit from violence. Coordinated by the FMSH and supported by the Carnegie Corporation of New York, IPEV has brought together researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to develop recommendations.
