The Women for Africa Foundation has just announced the launch of the 2023 Learn Africa program. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the academic mobility program has benefitted 293 students from 34 African countries, with many of them successfully integrating into the workforce and improving their socio-economic situation and that of their families.
The new call for applications offers a record number of face-to-face scholarships to young African women, who have proven to draw the best advantage of this type of scholarship at all levels. This year, the program places special emphasis on studies in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), as one of its aims is to break down the gender stereotypes that persist in the world of work and academia.
Thanks to the commitment of more than 50 program collaborators, including universities, educational centers and private funders, the Learn Africa 2023 program offers 77 new scholarships and 27 continuation scholarships, which include masters, doctorates, research stays, expert courses, and more .
The deadline to apply for a scholarship is April 12, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. (Madrid time).
All information related to the call, including the application process, requirements, and covers of each academic program, are available on the Foundation’s website in English and Spanish.
