UNIMED, as partner in two InterregMed projects namely Sustainable Tourism and Urban Transports Communities, has adhered to the IVY programme – Interreg Volunteer Youth – and is currently hosting a young Volunteer at its premises.

The IVY Programme is an initiative launched in 2017 by the European Commission in the framework of the European Solidarity Corps. It offers young students or professionals aged between 18 and 30 years old the opportunity to assist the work of organisations, particularly in terms of managing and monitoring European cross-border cooperation projects over a period of two to six months.

Having started her period in half January, our young volunteer Vittoria is implementing her volunteering period working in the framework of the two Interreg Med Projects “Sustainable Tourism” and “Urban Transport” communities for the next six months, until July.

This opportunity allows me to broaden my professional abilities, more specifically in the field of the green and sustainable transformation of the touristic and urban sector, in collaboration with authentic actors of regional cooperation in the Mediterranean.

Vittoria, young Volunteer

Recently graduated with a Master’s degree in euro-mediterranean affairs and cross-cultural cooperation (MIM) at the University of Ca’ Foscari (Venice), this experience in UNIMED within the IVY programme can give Vittoria the possibility to put in practice the knowledge and experience gained in the academia.

The IVY programme is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the Association of European Border Regions (AEBR).
