UNIMED is glad to announce that the network has grown in number of associated members.
Six new institutions from the Euro-Mediterranean region, have formally completed their association process bringing the network to count on 149 members from 24 countries. UNIMED welcomes the following institutions:
- CEFPAS, Italy
- Academy of Fine Arts of Rome, Italy
- Misurata University, Libya
- University of Nouakchott Al Aasriya, Mauritania
- Université Abdelmalek Essaadi, Morocco
- Université d’Alger 2, Algeria
UNIMED, the Mediterranean Universities Union, founded in October 1991 by Prof. Franco Rizzi, is an association of Universities from the countries of the Mediterranean basin. Its aim is to develop research and education in the Euro-Mediterranean area in order to contribute to scientific, cultural, social and economic cooperation, by acting in different scientific fields. Through the many initiatives carried out over almost three decades, UNIMED has promoted the collaboration between universities of the Mediterranean, becoming a point of reference for universities’ international cooperation.
