The very final session of the UNIMED General Assembly was dedicated to the UNIMED papers, namely these research initiatives leading to the publication of relevant papers. The session was opened by the Ambassador of Italy in Jordan, Luciano Pezzotti. He welcomed the audience and thanked the hosting institution, very happy to be joining such a rich and relevant event for the collaboration between Europe and the South-Mediterranean region. Second on stage was Anwar Katarani, from the Lebanese International University, who presented two papers, outcomes of two research processes guided by UNIMED and sponsored by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. While the first publication relates to the project IRHAL, titled “Lebanon: between aspiration for changes and the ancient regime” released in April 2022, the second publication relates to the MUSALIHA initiative on the Syrian Higher Education System and its role in the process of peacebuilding.
