Last June from 19th to 22nd, 2023 UNIMED President, Kherieh Rassas together with the UNIMED Director, Marcello Scalisi, met in Palestine several strategic partners besides Palestinian Universities, members and non members, of the UNIMED Network.

UNIMED President and Director met in Jerusalem with Mr. Sven Kühn Von Burgsdorff, Representative of the European Union. The meeting was focused on the collaboration within the European Union programmes dedicated to the academic cooperation between European and Palestinian universities and how to improve mobility opportunities for students.

Several meetings have been organized with diplomats of EU countries to better introduce the opportunity offered by the UNIMED network to Universities and international stakeholders.

A key moment in the agenda was represented by the meeting with Palestinian Universities.

UNIMED activities and priorities were more deeply presented and discussed to give space for proposals to the University members and listen to their needs and priorities. The meeting was also the occasion to present the network to the Palestinian Universities non UNIMED members.

The universities present to the meeting were the Al Quds University, An-Najah National University, Arab American University, Dar Al Kalima University, Palestine Polytechnic University, Palestine Technical University- Kadoorie and University of Birzeit.*
