From 28 to 30 March 2022, a delegation of Libyan education stakeholders and staff members from Expertise France met the UNIMED team in Rome.
This study visit aimed at offering new perspectives to develop and carry out new tools and policies promoting entrepreneurship at Libyan universities, has been organized in the framework of the EU4PSL project, funded by the European Union and implemented by Expertise France, which aims to disseminate the entrepreneurship culture in Libya and integrate it within the educational system.
For this reason, during these three days, the delegation had the chance to meet and exchange views with representatives of prestigious Italian institutions, namely the University of Salento, the Italian Conference of Rectors (CRUI), Confindustria and AlmaLaurea.
All the experts involved have contributed to raise awareness on the connection between the Higher Education sector and the job market and have shared experiences and knowledge to provide Libyan universities with new opportunities. How synergies between students and the private sector can be used to contribute to the city’s economic development was an element discussed by the University of Salento; CRUI showed the importance of coordinating the university system at national level while Confindustria offered some ideas about how to reduce the gap between the University’s graduates and the labor market’s demand and AlmaLaurea presented its work in supporting students to enter the job market.
