The project is a direct response to the challenges of sustainable project management in the region and to a recent reform of the higher education system in the Western Balkans, which recognized the problem of project management capacities of higher education staff and students.
Currently, higher education authorities in Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina are pushing universities towards internationalization, mainly through the formation of consortia and the implementation of joint projects with international partner universities. When applying for and managing international projects, HEI staff complain about insufficient knowledge and skills of support staff and note a lack of sustainable project management skills in the labor market.
SuProM aims to systematically support higher education institutions in the Western Balkans to improve their knowledge on project management issues and increase their support skills by developing and delivering project management training for higher education staff and introducing sustainable project management courses in higher education institutions.
