(Rome, 8 July 2019) Seven Tunisian professors from the University of Sfax, Tunis El Manar and Carthage were in Sassari participating from 17 to 22 June in the five-days Special Mobility Strand aimed at supporting and complementing the training of teachers on the integrated management of water, agriculture and environmental resources.
The Special Mobility Strand has been organised in the framework of the EU co-founded MAYA Project on Sustainable agro-ecosystem management and mitigation strategies in relation to climate change. The participants had the possibility to discuss with peers, reach a deeper understanding of the new methods and technologies proposed by the European partners and receive support to analyse Tunisian case studies with the new methodologies and techniques.
The Programme foresaw not only an International Conference on “World day to combat desertification and drought” but also Educational visit of the pilot sites of the network TreeDivNet, to investigate questions related to biodiversity in trees, of the Innovative beef cattle grazing systems for the restoration of abandoned lands in the Mediterranean mountains and other Educational Visits.
