UNIMED Director since 2008.
He holds a degree in Historical Sciences and International Cooperation at the Faculty of Literature, Philosophy and Languages of the University of Roma Tre, Italy.
He started working at UNIMED in 1998 as a project manager and moved gradually to the coordination of UNIMED’s initiatives and projects. He has extensive experience in managing and monitoring international projects.
UNIMED is currently a network of more than 160 universities from more than 25 countries of the Euro-Mediterranean region, with 14 SubNetworks involving more than 400 researchers, around 30 funded projects, 20 staff people and several institutional partnerships with important international organizations.
Nowadays, UNIMED is a permanent stakeholder of the European Commission and the Union for the Mediterranean.

Responsible for the UNIMED Award, collateral prize of the Venice International Film Festival
Antonio Falduto was born in Rome. He graduated from DAMS University in Bologna. He trained as an assistant on the sets of Federico Fellini and Ettore Scola. In 1991 he directed the film ANTELOPE COBBLER (winner of the jury price at Festival d’Annecy/Italian Cinema). Between 2001 and 2009 he directed a number of environmental and social short films. In 2010 he was co-writer of GANGOR (Rome Int. Film festival, competition) and in 2011/12 he wrote and directed THE ITALIAN CONSUL (Taormina int. Film Festival, Competition). In 2016\7 his experimental films MACROPAROLE and PRE\POSTCARDS were shown in several Art Exhibitions and Festivals.
Antonio Falduto has been a promoter of Italian Cinema at many Int. Film festival as Rio de Janeiro, Durban, Cape Town, Denver, Sydney and Miami.
He is also a professor at UNINT University in Rome and an annual visiting professor at the University of Denver, USA.
At UNIMED, he is responsible for initiatives in the cinematographic field, in particular for the scientific coordination of the UNIMED Award, a collateral award to the Venice International Film Festival.

Paolo Scarnecchia has taught History of Music and History of non-European Music in many Italian conservatories, and has been Adjunct Professor at the University of Naples “L’Orientale”, the Suor Orsola Benincasa University Institute of Naples, and Sapienza University of Rome.
He counts an active participation in international conferences, in Italy and abroad, on the musical culture of the Mediterranean region and in particular of the Near East. He has directed festivals and international music festivals and collaborated with several magazines.
He never stopped writing for Il Giornale della Musica and producing radio programs, dealing mainly with Early Music, and among his publications it is worth to mention Popular music and cultured music – Enciclopedia del Mediterraneo, Jaca Book 2000 (also published in Spanish, French and Arabic).
