In the framework of the SubNetwork on Employability, UNIMED has organized the first two webinars on the topics of entrepreneurship and employability, in collaboration with international organizations and UNIMED associated universities.
The first webinar, the concept of Academic Entrepreneurship and the neologism “Acadepreneurship”, held on 20th of May 2020, faced key issues as the role of Universities in creating jobs and reducing the unemployment rate, its third mission as “entrepreneurial university” beyond the classical activities of teaching and research. On this occasion, several institutions took the floor and, among them, UNIMED, the Lebanese University, AUF Middle East, the Antonine University, UNICEF Lebanon and Global Compact Network Lebanon.
Around 70 participants from the Middle East and North Africa and from both the academic and business community attended this initiative.
The second webinar, Vocational Learning at a distance: Supporting Vocational Teachers under the Lock Down, organised by the ETF was held on 26th of May 2020.
This webinar was focused on good practice in support and training for teachers and trainers for distance learning at different levels (national, regional, school) and on the potential of distance learning to innovate education and training provision. On this occasion, representatives from Ministries, Training Agencies and schools from ETF partner countries and EU member states described the blend of approaches they have used and how well they have worked in several areas, as National Support and Training for Teachers for distance learning; School-based Teacher Support for distance learning (teacher peer-to-peer learning and school-to school); Network(s) of Teachers and Monitoring and Coordinating Training and Support.
