(Rome, 24 March 2021) UNIMED is glad to announce that the network has grown in number of associated members. Five new universities from the Euro-Mediterranean region, have formally completed their association process bringing the network to count on 138 members from 23 countries. UNIMED welcomes the following universities:
- Al al-Bayt University, Jordan
- Tuscia University, Italy
- University of Tobruk, Libya
- IUAV University of Venice, Italy
- Middle East University, Jordan
UNIMED, the Mediterranean Universities Union, founded in October 1991 by Prof. Franco Rizzi, is an association of Universities from the countries of the Mediterranean basin. Its aim is to develop research and education in the Euro-Mediterranean area in order to contribute to scientific, cultural, social and economic cooperation, by acting in different scientific fields. Through the many initiatives carried out over almost three decades, UNIMED has promoted the collaboration between universities of the Mediterranean, becoming a point of reference for universities’ international cooperation.
